What is the FBAT for Law Enforcement in Florida?

The FBAT, or Florida Basic Abilities Test, is a generic term for the entry-level test used in Florida for law enforcement hiring. There used to be several commercial test vendors meeting this need. Today, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) only recommends the CJBAT for the police officer selection test in Florida. The CJBAT or Criminal Justice Basic Abilities Test is published by IOS. Florida has contracted with another company - Pearson VUE - to administer the exam. There are separate tests for Corrections applicants compared to Law Enforcement Officers. (And you were expecting a SHORT answer !!)

How Long is the CJBAT?

The CJBAT requires 90 minutes to complete.

Is the CJBAT Hard?

The CJBAT is one of the more difficult law enforcement exams in the U.S. since it covers traditional cognitive topics as well as behavioral questions that most applicants have never faced. Careful preparation can definitely improve your scores on the CJBAT and place you above the competition.
