Alabama Police Exams

There are two entrance exams used in Alabama.

1. Most agencies fall under the Alabama Peace Officers’ Standards and Training Commission and use three components of the ACT WorkKeys Assessment as their official Basic Abilities Test. The three components of the test and the required passing scores are as follows:

  1. Reading Comprehension (Workplace Documents), pass score 4
  2. Locating Information (Graphic Literacy), pass score 4
  3. Mathematics, pass score 3.

2. The Alabama State Troopers fall under the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA). Applicants for employement must take the ALEA Trooper Trainee 60670 Written Exam.
